Tehran Regional Arbitration Center (TRAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Oveis Rezvanian as the new Director of Center, effective from November 2, 2014. This appointment was made by Dr. Mohsen Mohebbi, Head of Center for International Legal Affairs (CILA) and after consultation with Prof. Dr. Rahmat Mohammad, Secretary-General of Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO).

Tehran Regional Arbitration Centre (TRAC) was established as an independent international organization pursuant to the Agreement signed on 3 May 1997, between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) and is functioning under its auspices. TRAC’s main duty is to organize arbitrations and to promote international commercial arbitration in the region. It also provides assistance to the enforcement of arbitral awards, as well as assistance to ad hoc arbitrations, especially in cases where they are taking place in accordance with the UNCITRAL Rules.

Dr. Rezvanian is an Assistant Professor of Arbitration Law in Iran and a Member of the Court of Arbitration at the Arbitration Center of Iran Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA).

He has a PhD in International Law from University of Geneva and an LLM in International Commercial Arbitration Law from Stockholm University. He is a member of Iranian Bar Associations and has served in several domestic and international arbitrations, either as counsel or arbitrator.
