TRAC 4th Vis Pre-moot (2021)

TRAC 4th Vis Pre-moot took place on March 9 and 10, 2021, with participation of 33 teams from 16 countries. This Pre-moot also brought together esteemed arbitration academics and practitioners around the world to accomplish this diverse and universal event as arbitrators.

TRAC 4th Vis Pre-moot opening webinar was held on 8 March 2021, in which Dr. Oveis Rezvanian (Director of TRAC), Dr. Hamid Gharavi (president of TRAC international board), Prof. Ronald A. Brand (University of Pittsburgh School of Law) and Prof. Patricia Shaughnessy (member of TRAC international board) were the featured speakers.

The distinguished panelists, engaged in discussions covering salient topics including the virtual hearing in an arbitration proceeding, the application of CISG provisions and the skills that participants in Vis Moot will achieve.

With the participation of 33 teams from several universities of 16 countries on day 1 and the kind contribution by the arbitrators of different nationalities, the TRAC 4th Vis Pre-moot General Rounds took place on 9 March 2021. Each team had two rounds of competitions and the top 8 teams advanced to the elimination rounds on day 2.

The final round of TRAC 4th Vis Pre-moot was held between the two finalists from Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia) and Eberhard Karls Universitat Tubingen (Germany). After a rough hearing before the distinguished members of arbitral tribunal, Prof. Margaret Moses, Prof. Patricia Shaughnessy, and Dr. Anthony Daimsis, the teams from Gadjah Mada University won the final round and ranked the first in TRAC 4th Vis Pre-moot.
