Work Experience He advises and represents private clients, governments and international organizations on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious public international law and international dispute resolution issues. He has acted as counsel and advocate before the International Court of Justice and ad hoc arbitration tribunals, including under the Permanent Court of Arbitration, ICSID, ICC, SCC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, WTO and UNCLOS rules. He sits as an arbitrator in investor-State arbitrations, including on ICSID and UNCITRAL tribunals. Robert is on the Expert Panel for States of UNCTAD’s Programme on Dispute Settlement in International Trade, Investment and Intellectual Property. He is the Joint Secretary of the British Branch of the ILA, as well as a member of the ILA committees on International Commercial Arbitration and the International Law of Foreign Investment. He is on the Management Board of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law’s Forum on International Investment Law.
