Dr. Oveis Rezvanian
Dr. Rezvanian is an Assistant Professor of Arbitration Law in Iran and a member of the Court of Arbitration at the Arbitration Center of Iran Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), a member of International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), and an advisory member of Young ICCA.
Dr. Rezvanian has a PhD in International Law from the University of Geneva and an LLM in International Commercial Arbitration Law from the Stockholm University. In addition to a bachelor of Law, he also holds a bachelor of Industrial Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Iran University of Science and Technology. Dr. Rezvanian is a member of Iran Central Bar and has served in several domestic and international arbitration cases, either as counsel or arbitrator.
In November 2014, Dr. Oveis Rezvanian was appointed as the new director of TRAC.
Dr. Mohsen Mohebi
Dr. Mohebi obtained Ph.D. in international law from Louvain-la-Neuve University in Belgium in 1995, His Masters in Private Laws from the Shahid Beheshti (ex-National) University of Iran (1983), and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tehran (1969).
He is Professor at University of Azad (Centre for Science and Researches) since 2006 and he is a head of department in public and International law since 2016.
He teaches topics of international law, international arbitration and International Commercial law more than 25 years.
Also, he is the editor-in-chief of the “International Law Journal”, the first Iranian journal in international law published by “BILS” (now CILA). He has been the first editor-in-chief of the first Iranian Law Review in the field of international law Iran, published since 1984 and volume 56 of which was recently published.
Dr. Mohebi has published more than 50 articles and 7 books on topics such as international arbitration, international law, and international commercial law.
He has been member of ICC International Court of Arbitration since 1999. In 2005, he was appointed as secretary general of arbitration centre of Iran Chamber of Commerce (ACIC). He is currently a member of PCA and a board member of Tehran Regional Arbitration Centre.
Prof. Kaj Hobér
Prof. Dr Kaj Hobér is professor of international investment and trade law at Uppsala University, Sweden. He is also an associate member of 3 Verulam Buildings, London. At Uppsala University, Prof. Hobér is the director of a one year master program in investment treaty arbitration. He also teaches public international law, WTO law, international commercial arbitration and Russian law.
Over the last 30 years he has been involved in more than 300 international arbitrations acting as counsel as well as arbitrator, including as chairman. He is the author of a dozen books and numerous articles.
Since 2016, Prof. Hobér is Chairman of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Sam Jalaei
Sam Jalaei, Partner – Attorney-at-law and Head of Middle East Group at the international full-service law firm, Magnusson.
Sam is a Danish attorney and a native Iranian (born and raised in Iran) fluent in Farsi, who represents and has represented major international companies, including Danish, Nordic and Chinese companies – both listed and unlisted – in doing business in Iran for the past 18 years in various business sectors and areas of law.
Furthermore, he is a former co-founder and board member of the Nordic-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and a frequent keynote speaker and expert panelist both domestically and internationally on legal matters in Iran, including on TV and other media. Sam is also ranked in both Chambers and Partners as well as Legal 500 as an Iran expert.
Ms. Kristin Campbell-Wilson
Kristin Campbell-Wilson is the Deputy Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).
Since the 1970’s, the SCC has emerged as one of the most important and frequently used arbitration institutions worldwide. The experience of the SCC includes commercial disputes in most sectors, including energy, as well as investor-state disputes (BITs and ECT).
In her role as Deputy Secretary General, Kristin is responsible for the daily operations at the SCC. Kristin is frequently engaged as a speaker and moderator at various conferences before the domestic and international arbitration community on issues related to arbitration and the SCC. Prior to joining the SCC in 2012, Kristin had worked in litigation for 9 years, most recently as a member of the Litigation and Arbitration team at DLA Nordic in Stockholm (currently DLA Piper Sweden). At DLA Nordic she worked extensively with arbitral proceedings representing both domestic and international commercial clients in disputes relating to a wide range of sectors.
Kristin is currently a member of the Board of YAS (Young Arbitrators Sweden) and of the IBA International Commercial Arbitration Case Law Subcommittee. Kristin was a member of IBA Arb40 Steering Committee during the years 2016-2017.
Dr. Mojtaba Kazazi
Dr. Mojtaba Kazazi, from Iran, is a former judge of the high courts of Tehran, a member of the Central Bar, and an experienced international arbitrator. He worked extensively on the arbitration and settlement of claims before the Iran-U.S Claims Tribunal at the Hague. He also served for many years as the Executive Head of the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC), and as the Secretary of its Governing Council, in Geneva, where he was instrumental in setting up the UNCC and in resolving 2.7 million claims from over 100 countries. More recently, he was the Executive Commissioner of two international mass claims programs for payment of compensation to workers of Rana Plaza building collapse and of Tazreen Fashion factory fire, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He lectured at the Hague Academy of International Law in 2017, and is currently a visiting scholar at the Graduate Institute, in Geneva; and a Vice-président of Institut de droit international.
Dr. Moshkan Mashkour
Dr. Moshkan Mashkour is graduated in 1984 in private and public international law from University of Paris-II and Institut des Hautes Etudes Internationales, Paris, and in Energy Law, from University of Paris-I. He obtained his Doctorate in law in 1991 from University of Paris-I, Sorbonne. He has been in charge of major international litigations of Iranian entities from 1984 to 2004 and acted for 13 years as Deputy to the Head of the Bureau of International Legal Services; In 2004, he was appointed as the first director of the Tehran Regional Arbitration Centre, and held that position until 2009. He then founded Sanglaj International Consultants. He has acted as adviser, counsel, expert and arbitrator in around 100 ad hoc and institutional arbitrations, including several multi-billion USD cases, with respect to foreign investment, constructions disputes in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors as well as mining and industrial projects, and international trade.
Ms. Adineh Abghari
Adineh Abghari is a member of the Iranian Central Bar Associations since 2001 and specialized in international arbitration and commercial law. She has acted as counsel, expert and senior researcher at domestic and international levels. Currently, she is Legal Senior Manager at Samsung and a member of the Arbitration Board of the Tehran Regional Arbitration Centre.
Earlier in her career, she worked for the International Criminal Court and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights. She also held academic positions with the Canada Research Chair and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law.
Dr. Mohamad H. Tavana
Dr. Tavana is a member of Iran Central Bar Association and advises clients in different fields of international commercial law. He previously served as a research associate at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London (2016), visiting scholar at the Department of Law, Stockholm University (2015), and research assistant at the Center for Islamic and Middle Eastern Legal Studies, University of Zurich (2012-2013). He has been often invited as a guest lecturer since 2012.
Dr. Tavana obtained his PhD with distinction, summa cum laude, in the field of international arbitration law from University of Zurich and holds an LL.M. Degree in International Commercial Arbitration Law awarded by Stockholm University. He also studied private international law at the Academy of International Law (The Hague) and investment arbitration at the International Academy for Arbitration Law (Paris).
Dr. Mehrdad Nazemi
Dr. Nazemi is the Founding Partner & Director of International Legal Services of Fanoos Law Office, a certified independent law firm registered in Tehran, with 17 years of experience as legal practitioner & attorney-at-law. Dr. Nazemi acts as an arbitrator and he is in the TRAC arbitrators list. He provides legal consultancy & services in fields including but not limited to: Alternative Dispute Resolutions, Litigation, International Commercial Affairs, International Foreign Investment, Corporations, IP Law, Mining & has been involved in cases covering Public & Private International Law connected with Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals issues. Apart of acting as an independent international commercial arbitrator, appreciating dynamism & mobility he’s been representing also, foreign clients in commercial negotiations, projects & legal management.
Mr. Nazemi holds a Ph.D. & an LLM in International Law & also a Certificate of English Common Law all from Paris Sorbonne University. In Academia, he is also Assistant Professor of International Law in Iran, covering International Commercial Arbitration, Private International Law & Contracts areas.
