TRAC DISSERTATION PRIZE

With a goal of encouraging Iranian students to research legal issues affecting commercial and investment arbitration and strengthening the links between teaching institutions and practitioners, the Tehran Regional Arbitration Centre awards an annual Prize designed to support focused research in this field.

1st TRAC DISSERTATION PRIZE (2018-2019)

We are delighted to announce that Ms. Sanaz Babaei (Graduated from Shahid Beheshti University) is the winner of the 2018 TRAC Dissertation Prize for her dissertation entitled, “Evaluation of Damages in International Trade and Investment Arbitration”.

2nd TRAC DISSERTATION PRIZE (2019-2020)

The TRAC 2nd Dissertation Prize began in September 2019 with the registration of dissertations related to the field of arbitration, and after a preliminary evaluation, three dissertations advanced to the final evaluation. With the unanimous opinion of the evaluation committee members, the dissertation entitled “The role of international investment law in supporting the recognition and enforcement of commercial arbitration awards with emphasis on investment arbitration procedure” written by Mr. Ali Tusi, Master of International Trade Law from Allameh Tabatabai University, supervised by Dr. Pouria Askari and advised by Dr. Ali Moghadam Abrishami, was selected as the best dissertation for TRAC 2nd Dissertation Prize 2020.

3rd TRAC DISSERTATION PRIZE (2020-2021)

The TRAC 3rd Dissertation Prize began in September 2020 with the registration of dissertations related to the field of arbitration, and after a preliminary evaluation, three dissertations advanced to the final evaluation. With the unanimous opinion of the evaluation committee members, the dissertation entitled “Using Blockchain in International Commercial Arbitration” written by Ms. Mojgan Honarmandjavan, Master of International Trade Law from the University of Tehran, supervised by Dr. Mohammad Sardoui Nasab, was selected as the best dissertation for the third round of TRAC Dissertation Prize.

4th TRAC DISSERTATION PRIZE (2021-2022)

The TRAC 4th Dissertation Prize began in September 2021 with the registration of dissertations related to the field of arbitration. After evaluating and submitting the scores by the evaluation jury, none of the dissertations of this round succeeded in obtaining the scores quorum according to the criteria stated in the regulations, and therefore, no dissertation was recognized as the winner of the TRAC 4th Dissertation Prize.
